Prosecutors are seeking an 18-month jail sentence for actress Ok So-ri, who admits adultery, and six months in jail and two years’ probation for her paramour, a singer identified as Jung. Korea is one of a handful of countries where adultery remains a crime after the Constitutional Court, ruling on a petition from Ok, rallied an insufficient majority to throw out the elderly law.

The entertainment industry is abuzz over “dance machine” Rain‘s hot track “Rainism,” which has recently been banned from sale to teenagers over its lewd lyrics. The singer agreed to change a few phrases for his underage fans at concerts but expressed regret over the government’s decision on the already chart-topping record.

Celebrating its ninth year, the CCTV-MTV Music Honors was ablaze with the star-studded line-up of top Asian artists. With a nearly 6000-strong audience, the 9th CCTV-MTV Music Honors proudly presented the big winners of each honor which took place at the Beijing Worker’s Gymnasium at 7.30pm on November 17.

Korean boy band Super Junior will hold concerts in Seoul, South Korea, and Nanjing and Shanghai in China in January 2009.

The Seoul concert is a fitting close to their first Asia Tour which was held this year in different cities.

The concert will be held on January 3 and 4 at the Seoul Olympic Park Fencing Stadium.

Super Junior and their subgroups have been very busy with their concerts and appearances. Super Junior M launched their first album in China. Other members were busy doing TV shows and hosting their own radio programs.

This is a rather disturbing trend among Korean teens. Sexual harassment is on the rise among teen athletes and these cases are not reported for personal reasons. An article in the Korea Times explains why:

Approximately six out of every 10 athletes at secondary schools were found to have suffered sexual harassment from their coaches and seniors, according to a survey by the National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) released Monday.
