The Fuji TV show “Smap x Smap” featuring the “F4 boys” from the KBS TV drama “Boys Over Flowers” — Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun-joong, Kim Beom and Kim Jun — aired on July 13, recording viewer ratings of 15.9 percent. The four actors visited Japan in April to record the show.

Last weekend, the cities of Guangzhou, China, and Tokyo, Japan, were abuzz over the appearance of young celebrities from Korea.

Hordes of ardent Chinese fans came out on Saturday to see two stars of a wildly popular Korean TV drama series, which made its debut in mainland China yesterday.

“Boys over Flowers” stars Lee Min-ho, Koo Hye Sun and Kim Joon were reunited during the opening of Koo’s exhibition at Gallery La Mer in Insadong, Seoul on July 1. Kim Bum and SS501’s Kim Hyun-joong were not able to attend due to personal commitments.

Kim Sung-hoon, head of the late (“Boys over Flowers”) actress Jang Ja-yeon’s former management agency, was arrested in Japan, police said Wednesday.

Kim had been placed on a wanted list on suspicions of forcing up-and-coming actresses, including Jang, to provide sexual favors to showbiz and media VIPs.

A Thai TV station is deferring the showing of “Boys over Flowers” in Thailand, fearing that it would affect the education of many Thai students who are fans of Korean stars.

Thailand’s Channel 7 has bought the rights to “Boys over Flowers” but it has not scheduled its airing. In an article in The Nation, one of Thailand’s leading English newspapers, last June 14, an executive of Channel 7 said they are closely watching the evolution of Korean wave and the students.
